Mrs. Morrow's Tech Blog
My first attempt at blogging! I'm excited to see where this takes us in this world of Language Arts integrated with technology! Look for posts on handhelds, SMART Boards, software apps, digital photography, and movie production. Wish me luck!

Both the eagle news and the history story were good. You could use the news format for history or current news classes. The history story looked like the students had fun with it. They will also remember it better. The students had a lot to do with the productiion of the story.
The hurricane video was powerful. I really like the black and white pictures to use as effect. I think it is cool that a person can alter pictures to look like old movies, make them black and white etc.
I really liked the the movie the kids did on Hurricane Katrina. The black and white images were very moving and portrayed the feeling of grief.
I always enjoy watching the eagle eye news stories. I am always eager to see the digital stories that the kids do. Seeing the digital story about the teachers would have to be my favorite.
The computer predator story would a good one to show to students. Images of a this happening to a real teenage girl will hopefully will leave a burning image in teenage minds.
I watched a few digitales. What a neat way to do a quick report. I watched one about small Nebraska towns. Another one was about a woman's desire to get a horse. It takes you through her journey from being a young girl to adulthood when she finally gets a horse. The ones you watched in class weren't available to me due to my Mahoney trip.
I really enjoyed the one that the kids did on Hurricane Katrina. It was very powerful and I thought their choice to do it black and white was great.
I liked meet Mr. and Mrs. Brown. A cool way to start your year.
I really like the movie the teachers put together for Apple. It is short, has a great message, and is entertaining. The movie about Hurrican Katrina was really great as well. It always amazes me what students can do. They are so creative and their skills are very impressive.
The westward movement videos were quite entertaining. What a great way to get students excited about history! I also thought the Katrina video was very powerful without any words. The teacher video from Apple is still one of my favorites.
I liked the Katrina video. I didn't know you could change the photos to black and white. That is a neat feature.
